VOTER REGISTRATION

Voter registration is a crucial step in the electoral process that allows eligible citizens to participate in elections. BSIEC facilitates the voter registration process to ensure that all eligible citizens have the opportunity to register and exercise their right to vote.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a Nigerian citizen.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be a resident of Benue State.
• Must possess a valid form of identification (e.g., national identity card, driver’s license, or international passport).

Process

• Registration Centers: BSIEC establishes registration centers across Benue State where citizens can register to vote.
• Documentation: Citizens are required to provide personal information and present a valid form of identification for verification.
• Biometric Registration: BSIEC conducts biometric registration to capture the voter’s fingerprints and photograph for verification purposes.
• Verification: Once registered, voters can verify their registration status online or at designated centers.
• Continuous Registration: BSIEC conducts continuous voter registration to allow eligible citizens who have not yet registered to do so at any time.
